The Pearl Harbor Hawaiian Civic Club has awarded 18 scholarships to members pursuing their post-high school education. As pursuant to our by-laws, one-fifth of the total of our scholarship fund, $14,100 was awarded to deserving students this year.

A very special mahalo to 2010 Scholarship Chairperson, Charles Kapua, whose much appreciated effort does not stop here. He will continue to work to confirm that all scholarship recipients have fulfilled their community service requirements, have attended club meetings and have maintained the required GPA throughout the year.
And a very, very special mahalo nui loa to all of you who have generously donated your time, energy and kala at various Pearl Harbor Hawaiian Civic Club fundraising events throughout the year. Without your kokua, awarding these scholarships would not have been possible.

Introducing the Pearl Harbor Hawaiian Civic Club 2010 Scholarship recipients:
Tyffiny E. Pohaikealoha Keliiaa attends the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, college of education. She is pursuing a Post Baccalaureate certificate in Special Education.
Pii Minns will be a sophomore at the University of Hawai’i, Manoa, in the fall. He is majoring in Business.
Bianca Minns attends Whittier College, located in Los Angeles California. She will be a senior, majoring in Biology/Pre-medicine.
Netanya Makana Kamaha’o Roman attends Leeward Community College, located in Pearl City, Hawai’i. She is a Liberal Arts major.
Kawika Borden will be a freshman at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, located in Honolulu, Hawai’i in the fall.
Ka’anoi Zuttermeister attends Oregon State University, located in Corvallis, Oregon. She is majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences, where she will be a sophomore in the fall.
Brolin Kawewehi attends Oregon State University, located in Corvallis, Oregon, where he will be a sophomore in the fall. He is majoring in Business Administration.
Lacey L. Phifer attends Malokai Community College, located in Kaunakakai, Hawai’i. She is a Liberal Arts major.
Brandon Low attends UC Davis, located in Davis, California. He will be a senior in the fall. He is an Exercise Biology major..
Tiffany Michelle Keawe will be a freshman at Hawai’i Community College, located in Hilo, Hawai’i in the fall. She will be majoring in Digital Media.
Terri Pacheco is pursuing a Masters degree in Nursing with the intention of receiving a dual license in Advanced Public Health Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner..
John Pacheco will be a sophomore at Pacific University, located in Forest Grove, Oregon. He is majoring in Philosophy and Law, with the goal of attending Law School at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.
Taran Pierce attends Green River Community College in Aubum, Washington, majoring in Chemistry.

PHHCC also made two awards of $750.00 each to the Dorothy Kahananui Gillette and Dr. George Hi’ilani Mills Scholarship Fund, which are administered by the Ke Ali’i Pauahi Foundation.
